Kelsey’s 13th!

Elissha and Shane wanted Kelsey’s 13th birthday to be memorable and very special and kept it a suprise till the very last minute. Elissha took Kelsey shopping and then headed to the salon soome pampering. Kelsey still had no idea about her final suprise! Elissha gave a final twist on the suprise by telling Kelsey that they would be participating in ballroom dancing.  Talk about being thrown for a loop. When they arrive in downtown Kyle, Elissha finally let Kelsey know what her suprise was about. Kelsey was excited. We photographed Kelsey in downtown Kyle in some really cute outfits and some of her grandmother’s prized jewelry. We all had a blast! It was good to see them again! Here are some photos from the session.

Andrea and Eve

This is Andrea and her beautiful and lovable baby, Eve! When I got home and settled, I started going through the frames taken from the session. This is my favorite one from the set. Motherhood is such a beautiful thing.  Congratulations to Andrea and Santiago on their new and super sweet arrival!

Steve and Barry rocked my socks!

Jake and I stopped by in San Antonio to visit Santiago, Andrea and baby Eve. We were able to get some artistic shots of Eve. I am planning on working on those and will even post a few in the next day or two. We had lunch and go to talking about how expensive it can be to dress kiddos these days. Andrea was telling me about Steve & Barry’s.  I remember Steve & Barry and the whole SJP clothing line that she launched not too long ago. Andrea and Santiago lead us to Steve & Barry’s.  I had died and gone to shopping heaven!! Everything in the store was under $10 and and what’s even better, the clothing is really cute!! I pick up a couple of things for Molly and Jake. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Gosh, I wished we had one here in Austin!! Worth the trip and so much fun!!

Eve’s session

Ah, I can’t wait!! Tomorrow, I have a baby essential session with baby Eve in San Antonio! I have a about 100 ideas that I want to do with Eve.  I will post pictures as soon as I have them in my hot little hands. : )

It really is easy being green!

There is a growing trend in green weddings. Couples are opting for a green wedding. So how does a couple plan a green wedding? After some digging around, here are few tidbits of information that I want to pass along to couples interested in planning a green wedding and reducing your carbon footprint.

1.Use eco-friendly, tree-free stationery paper for your invitations. Check out http://www.earthlyaffair.com/

Not only are Earthly Affair invitations and other stationery eco-friendly, they are beautiful and quite trendy.

2.Serve meals using local, organic food at your event. Organic is tasty and would help out local, homegrown business. That is always nice.

3.Secure fresh, organic flowers for your bouquets and boutonnieres from a local grower in your area.

4.Use fresh, organic flowers and/or greenery for your table centerpieces.

5.Seek out bridal retailers who sell eco-friendly wedding dresses. Check out http://www.threadheadcreations.com;  they have a variety of dresses made in hemp, cotton, peace silk, raw silk, and even bamboo. Their price range is awesome, too. Expect to pay anywhere from $450.00-$2000.00. These dresses are classic and simple.

6.When selecting a venue, try keeping the ceremony and the reception all in one place.  Guests will certainly appreciate not having to travel from one place to another are lowering fuel emmisions. Isn’t this amazing?!

7. In lieu of gifts, ask your guests to donate to an eco-friendly charity of your choice.

8.Track your wedding carbon footprint by using this wedding carbon footprint calculator! Check it out!

We wish you all the best of luck and do pass this information on to others planning a green wedding!

Happy 4th of July! Kyle Texas

We had a super fun 4th of July with Jake’s parents. Good food, good drink, and lots of laughs…as always. We watched the fireworks in Kyle, Texas. Jake and I had an interesting time trying to explain to Molly and Dylan how the 4th of July came to be and what it represented and how it affects us. Needless to say, I need to brush up on my american history. : )
